Trevor Neil

Trevor Neil was born in Glasgow, Scotland in 1954. He was educated at Gloucester House and then Portora Royal School in Enniskillen, Northern Ireland. He became a soft commodity floor trader for Merrill Lynch in 1974. Since then he has developed his skills as a futures fund manager and professional technical analyst.

Trevor has worked on the floor of LIFFE, giving short-term technical analysis support for a large group of arbitrageurs in the Bund pit. He managed a successful futures quoted fund for Union CAL Limited and, as a registered CTA in the US, his track record shows just one losing year since 1984.

He is a Member of the Securities Institute and he was global head of technical analysis at Bloomberg for four years until late 2004, where he was responsible for training and technical analysis software development on the Bloomberg terminal. He left Bloomberg to set up a hedge fund in South Africa after which he founded BETA Group, offering consultancy to banks and funds around the world, as well as seminars to banking professionals.
