Trevor Neil

Trevor Neil was born in Glasgow, Scotland in 1954. He was educated at Gloucester House and then Portora Royal School in Enniskillen, Northern Ireland. He became a soft commodity floor trader for Merrill Lynch in 1974. Since then he has developed his skills as a futures fund manager and professional technical analyst.

Trevor has worked on the floor of LIFFE, giving short-term technical analysis support for a large group of arbitrageurs in the Bund pit. He managed a successful futures quoted fund for Union CAL Limited and, as a registered CTA in the US, his track record shows just one losing year since 1984.

He is a Member of the Securities Institute and he was global head of technical analysis at Bloomberg for four years until late 2004, where he was responsible for training and technical analysis software development on the Bloomberg terminal. He left Bloomberg to set up a hedge fund in South Africa after which he founded BETA Group, offering consultancy to banks and funds around the world, as well as seminars to banking professionals.

Paddy Osborn

Paddy Osborn was born in Wisbech, Cambridgeshire in 1965. He is a graduate of the University of Reading, where he gained a BSc (Hons.) in Mathematics and Computer Science. He started working in the City in 1987 trading Japanese Equity Derivatives at Securities House, NKK, after which he moved to Tradermade International Ltd. and then BETA Group. Paddy has over 20 years of market experience, both as a trader and as a technical analyst. He appears regularly on CNBC to give his technical views on the markets and has appeared on discussion panels at financial conferences.

Paddy currently splits his time between lecturing at a number of UK universities, providing consultancy services to banks and fund managers as well as delivering seminars to banking audiences across the globe. Paddy holds the IFTA CFTe Level 2 Certificate and a Diploma from the Society of Technical Analysts.

Paul Meadows


With some 25 years in the investment management industry Paul Meadows is a leading authority on the hedge

fund sector. His career has covered every aspect of Asset Management including Private Banking, Equity

Research, Fund Management and investing in Hedge Funds.

Paul has a B.Sc (Hons) in Economics from the London School of Economics and is an Associate of the UK
